Here are some of the many venues where Allison Cox has shared her stories
Allison has appeared on television and throughout the community in a variety of settings such as primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, churches, camps, weddings, book stores and libraries. She has told stories throughout the Northwest and across Canada.
She has presented to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Some of her listeners include hospice workers, recovery and support groups, therapists, ministers, health professionals, the Audubon Society, Big Sisters/Big Brothers, teachers, teen exchange students, elder meal site participants and thousands of children.
In recent years, Allison has performed at multicultural celebrations telling stories in the city of Tacoma from African, Hispanic, Asian and Native American traditions and was featured two years at Ethnic Fest where she shared Celtic tales from her own heritage.
Allison Cox has been featured as a storyteller at a variety of venues. She has repeatedly produced (and performed in) the storytelling events for Woman's History Month, Woman's Awareness Week, Snake Lake's Discovery Day and Tellebration. Allison Cox has also appeared at the United Ministries' "A Taste of Heaven" celebration, at Pacific Lutheran University's Pacific Rim Festival, at Pro-Arta's "Winter Storytelling" event, at the Tacoma Maritime Fest, and many times at the Kitsap County Water Festival. Allison will be a featured teller at the Tacoma Art Gallery in Spring, 2003.
Allison Cox was chosen to represent Washington state in the Regional Concert of the National Storytelling Conference in San Diego, CA in 1999 and presented a workshop on Storytelling and Domestic Violence at the NSN Conference in Jonesborough, TN in 2000. She will present the second of a series of concerts and workshops in Sacramento in February 2003 and will also be featured in the HSA Pre-Conference concert and workshops at the NSN Conference in Chicago 2003.

- Vice chair and a founding board member of the Healing Story Alliance Special Interest Group of the National Storytelling Network.
- Editor and graphic artist for the Healing Story Alliance journal - Diving In The Moon: Honoring Story, Facilitating Healing.
- Chairperson of conference: "Storytelling for Prevention, Building Wellness In The Community" attended by 200 in Fife Washington in August, 1998.
- Vice President, Producer of Tellabration, and author of the Guild Newsletter for Mt. Tahoma Storytelling Guild, each for two years.
- Allison has used story in each of these capacities: Mental Health Therapist (88-90), Social Worker (90-95), Health Educator (95-98), Health Promotion Specialist (98-00) and Prevention Specialist (00-02). She has a MA in Counseling Psych and a Graduate Certificate in Public Health.
